When Did Eddie Hearn Start His Professional Career?

After graduating from high school, Eddie Hearn began his career in the West End working for a sports management company that represented golfers. Subsequently, he promoted online poker through Matchroom, whose events were broadcast globally.

In 2015, Hearn inked a contract to have up to 20 episodes broadcast exclusively on Sky Sports, a UK broadcaster. The agreement was in effect for six years, or until 2021. Hearn organized some major fights, such as Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko in 2017 and Carl Froch vs. George Groves II in 2014.

Wembley Stadium hosted both fights, which drew crowds of 80,000 and 90,000 spectators, respectively. Hearn revealed in May 2018 that Matchroom and DAZN, a streaming service, have struck an agreement to view boxing matches across the country.

This was the first-ever boxing transaction worth $1 billion, or £750 million. Hearn and Matchroom Boxing agreed as part of the deal to host 16 U.S. shows that were exclusively available on DAZN. In addition, 16 of his UK performances will air on the platform.
