He fought back tears as he recounted how his father had called him to tell him that he had killed his mother and brother, as if he were going to watch the event in front of his father.

Testifying before the jury, he stated that his father’s voice had an odd quality when he told him that his mother and brother had been murdered. He also mentioned that his father was visibly moved by the narrative, to the point of tears. Alex and his fiancĂ©e were at Moselle the night of the murders, but he remained silent.
